PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY
Family portrait photography, corporate portrait photography, baby portrait photography, child portrait photography, maternity portrait photography basically any kind of portrait photography you can think of! We also offer "paparazzi" style portraiture - where we will follow you - discreetly - on a family day out, to capture those special moments when you aren't feeling uneasy or aware of us.
Our services cover Tavistock, Plymouth, Devon, Cornwall and all surrounding areas.
CHILD PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY
Location & Time
At this stage we'll talk about any locations you might have in mind. I'm happy to shoot anywhere but we must remember the main objective is to find a good background that enhances your images. Occasionally I may suggest a location that seems a little obscure but trust me, I always have a good reason! For outdoor portrait sessions I will want to avoid the harsh light of mid-day sun therefore prefer to shoot in the morning or late afternoon. Indoor sessions can be more flexible timewise. If shooting indoors a large amount of natural light is needed so please keep this in mind when booking child portrait photography shoots in your home.
Clothing
Clothing is a very important component to a successful portrait but please keep it simple!! Avoid large logos, busy patterns and prints on clothing as these can be distracting in photographs. When kids play dress up it makes for some very amusing pictures so please let us know in advance if your child is going through a spiderman suit or fairy wing phase! Less is best for babies and newborns.
Images & Proofs
After your portrait shoot I'll arrange a convenient time for you to view the best images, typically around 10-20. I aim to have proofs ready to view within 1-2 weeks from the date of your session. Once your order has been placed the images will then be uploaded to a password protected gallery where you, your friends and family can view them in your own time.
Newborns
These new little people are best photographed in the first 2 weeks, preferably in the first 5-10 days. They are very sleepy in the first 10 days meaning that I can pose them without waking them up. It becomes much more difficult to create those sleeping shots after this time. If possible, please contact me before your baby is born and I'll pencil in your due date. Your session is then reserved for you as a priority within 10 days of their arrival. Just give me a call or send a quick text to let me know he/she has arrived and we'll schedule in the session. As newborns rarely arrive when expected I try to keep a couple of slots open around due dates for early or late arrivals and will always do my best to fit you in.
